Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service.
Our club offers an opportunity to make a real difference in Chickasha. We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year.
We are seeking new volunteers to join our organization and make a difference. Our members are from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others.

Literacy Efforts

Literacy is a cornerstone of Altrusa’s mission, and Altrusa International of Chickasha proudly supports reading and education throughout our community. Our members provide dictionaries to local third-grade students through the Dictionary Project, maintain Little Free Libraries around Chickasha, distribute summer learning workbooks to encourage reading during school break, and host a monthly Silent Book Club that brings the community together around a shared love of books. Through these efforts and other literacy initiatives, our members help inspire lifelong readers while making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families across our community.

Hall of Trees

Each holiday season, Altrusa International of Chickasha hosts the beloved Hall of Trees, a festive gala that celebrates the spirit of the season in a community proudly known as “Christmas Town, USA.” Beautifully decorated Christmas trees and holiday displays bring families, businesses, and visitors together to enjoy the magic of the season. The event also raises funds that support Altrusa’s literacy and local nonprofits making Hall of Trees a cherished Chickasha tradition for over 30 years.

Community Service

Altrusa International of Chickasha is committed to strengthening our community through hands-on service and partnerships with local organizations. Throughout the year, members volunteer their time and talents to support community needs, assist local nonprofits, and participate in service projects that make a positive impact across Chickasha and Grady County. By working together, our members turn compassion into action and help build a stronger community for everyone.Bottom after the flowers that is going away:Interested in getting involved in your community?
